Descartes Systems Group has built a pair of new features into its Logistics Technology Platform. The vendor has launched the Descartes Collaboration Gateway, which supports secure access for entities that casually connect to trading parties as part of the supply-chain process, and Descartes Ocean ACE (Automated Commercial Environment) Filing, an M1-certified application for ocean shipments arriving in the U.S. Collaboration Gateway allows a user to expand its connections to trading partners beyond established, defined relationships. Included as part of the vendor's e-Pouch application, it extends the benefits of the International Air Transport Association's e-Freight initiative. The Ocean ACE Filing tool is designated by U.S. Customs and Border Protection as an M1-Certified and Compliant Service for filing ocean manifest information to CBP's ACE system. It is integrated with Descartes' Global Logistics Network. In another company announcement, version 2.0 of the Descartes Global Logistics Network has achieved certification as powered by the SAP NetWeaver technology platform. Through the integration with SAP applications, customers can receive critical logistics information from carriers, logistics service providers, custom house brokers, regulatory agencies and other trading partners.
