International Asset Systems (IAS) has developed a new generation of cloud technology to aid customers with the planning, pricing, booking and execution of inland container haulage. Developed as an extension of the IAS DispatchManager, the Web-based tool automates the container-haulage work order process from creation to proof of delivery. According to the vendor, it is designed to help ocean carriers, cargo owners, third-party logistics providers and motor carriers connect and collaborate more effectively. The new products consist of three modules: DispatchOptimizer, DispatchTender and DispatchTariff. Dispatch Optimizer identifies intermodal transport hauls and facilitates street turns, with the aim of reducing dual deadheading of empty containers. DispatchTender is a neutral negotiation platform which allows cargo originators to broadcast work to one or many motor carriers within their networks. Carriers receiving offers can then place bids for the work orders. DispatchTariff is a centralized, automated rate-management application which streamlines the rate-request and tariff-maintenance process. It contains pre-approved tariffs for standard work order creation.
