The Institute for Supply Management (ISM) has acquired the consulting firm ADR North America. For the past three years, the two have been involved in a joint venture, the ISM-ADR School for Supply Management, which provides professional-development courses in multiple formats and languages. Last year, they set up a permanent training location in China. With the acquisition, ADR will continue to operate under its own name, providing a wide range of supply-management consulting services, including baseline assessments, business transformations, coordination of procurement efforts, risk management and category strategies. Bill Michels will continue as chief executive officer of ADR, as well as president of ADR-ISM Supply Chain Management Consulting (Shanghai) Co., Inc. He has also been named a senior vice president of ISM. ADR North America will operate as a subsidiary of ISM Services, Inc. ISM offers the Certified Professional in Supply Management (CPSM), Certified in Supply Management (CSM) and Certified Professional in Supplier Diversity (CPSD) qualifications.
