LinkAmerica Corp., a Tulsa, Okla.-based provider of regional trucking and logistics services, is undertaking a major upgrade of its fleet. The company said it will replace 575 pieces of equipment as part of a new fleet trade-cycle program. The program involves tractors from Freightliner and Peterbilt, as well as 53-foot plate trailers from Stoughton. LinkAmerica said it is also enhancing its driver recruiting and retention efforts as part of a "best-in-class" initiative. The new program amounts to the replacement of 20 percent of LinkAmerica's fleet with new equipment, according to president and chief executive officer John Simone. LinkAmerica consists of four divisions: 53' Super Southwest & Super Southeast Regions, LinkAmerica 57, Teams and Logistics Services. The carrier focuses primarily on the southwestern, south central and southeastern regions of the U.S.
