IFS has partnered with Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) to generate new business in the area of asset and service management. IFS is a vendor of multiple types of business software; Tata is a provider of information-technology, consulting and outsourcing services. According to the new companies, the partnership will primarily target the project-driven manufacturing, chemicals, energy, utilities, telecom, and oil and gas industries. IFS said the deal will enhance its ability to serve larger companies in North America, while improving support of existing customers. Tata Consultancy will build a global center of excellence to support the new initiatives. It claims more than 89,000 consultants in 47 countries.
