As part of a 10-year agreement, Caterpillar Logistics Services will provide warehousing and inventory management, records accuracy, and transportation management services to Newmont Mining Corporation, a leading gold producer.
Cat Logistics will operate a 162,000-square-foot logistics center in Elko, Nevada, that will serve as a master distribution center supporting four mines and five processing plants in the north-central part of the state. The facility also will incorporate the parts operations of Cashman, the local Caterpillar dealer. In a combined effort with Newmont's maintenance team, the Cat Logistics integrated logistics solution will aid Newmont's 3,700-plus employees to recover, crush, convey and process precious metals.
