The announcement follows the carrier's decision to end its cooperation with Maersk Line in the South America East Coast-Caribbean trade. Beginning with the Aug. 20 departure from Manzanillo, Panama en route to Brazil, CMA CGM's network will operate in a loop consisting of Manzanillo, Kingston, Port of Spain, Manus, Suape, Santos, Paranagua, Itajai, Santos, Rio de Janeiro, Salvador de Bahia, Cartagena and Manzanillo. CMA CGM will operate the Brazex service by itself, with eight dedicated vessels of 1,700 twenty-foot equivalent units each.
