The new VC6090 enables voice, data and barcode-scanning capability in a rugged unit. According to the vendor, the device provides the ideal form factor for tight-spaced lift trucks. It integrates voice and data and incorporates Wi-Fi support, enabling drivers to connect to any available wireless local area network (WLAN) within a facility, or when in range of access points. The unit features an integrated keyboard with large keys for workers using gloves, along with an easy-to-read touchscreen display. Motorola is offering the product with its Service From the Start With Comprehensive Coverage program, covering normal wear and tear as well as accidental damage to internal and external components.
