Headquartered in Toronto, Ont., Vortex Connect specializes in tools for business-to-employee communications. Its mobility platform will be combined with RedPrairie's Enterprise Workforce Management (EWFM) suite, creating a single source of mobile-enabled products which manage the workforce across disciplines, including stores, warehouses and distribution centers. The deal gives RedPrairie a number of new capabilities, including mobile shift management and bidding, mobile communications and operations management, and employee self-service. RedPrairie will establish a Mobility Center of Excellence in Toronto, focusing on the use of mobility throughout the extended supply chain. The facility will add Vortex mobility experts to RedPrairie's research and development, product strategy and mobile technology groups.
