The new Epicor Aftermarket Parts Port enables vehicle dealers to research, price and order parts and suppliers, and integrate with dealers' business-management systems. The tool links dealers with the nearly 20,000 aftermarket distributors who utilize the Epicor Internet AutoParts (IAP) sourcing service. The port is expected to be available to IAP-enabled distributors in January, 2013. In a related announcement, Epicor has added a variety of new features to its Epicor Eagle business-management software. The additions allow automotive aftermarket distributors and jobbers to manage business performance while on the road, in a customer location or elsewhere via a smartphone or other mobile device. Epicor Eagle software is now equipped with the Epicor Mobile Manager application, enabling authorized users to view sales, inventory, pricing and customer information via a mobile device. In addition, Epicor has introduced its new System Backup and Recovery application. The feature ensures that customers can access their Epicor enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems in the event of major systems issues or disaster. The app was designed especially for small and mid-sized business, and is available to users of Epicor ERP, Vantage or Vista running Microsoft SQL Server.
