Lightning Pick Technologies has partnered with SPSI to offer light-directed order-fulfillment systems. Lightning Pick is a provider of pick-to-light, put-to-light and other order-fulfillment technology. SPSI sells shipping and warehousing systems for large companies. The venture will provide customers with a single source for light-directed tools that require complete integration with the manifesting system. According to the partners, the improved interface increases the productivity, accuracy and speed of the distribution process, from picking through shipping. Through the use of best-of-breed technologies across order-selection and shipping processes, the two companies claim to offer deeper visibility into the overall health and performance of systems, through such features as productivity reports and package tracking. Lightning Pick's systems are geared toward electronic commerce, returns processing, container routing, radio-frequency and voice-directed picking, and radio frequency identification (RFID).
