The update includes a new version of Aspen HYSYS, solids-modeling functionality that is integrated within Aspen Plus, the new Aspen PIMS Platform, a new version of Aspen Collaborative Demand Manager, and enhancements to process control, energy and economic analysis. The new HYSYS streamlines the generation of optimized process simulations for the hydrocarbon industry. Solids-modeling capability makes it possible to optimize all chemical processes together. A new "activate" feature in Aspen Plus and HYSYS allows process engineers to identify ways to change designs in order to reduce energy, design time and operating cost. The adaptive process control functionality within aspenONE APC automates many tasks that traditionally have required control engineering resources. Aspen PIMS Platinum is the latest addition to the vendor's product line of applications for the petroleum supply chain. It enables planners to visualize and evaluate multiple scenarios, along with plant data, to lead to more profitable decisions, according to AspenTech.
