Intelleflex Corp., a vendor of radio frequency identification (RFID) technology for the supply chain, has entered into a partnership with Pimatronics Ltd., a Hong Kong-based manufacturer with production in China. Under the deal, Pimatronics will fabricate a line of "next-generation" extended-capability RFID tags. The battery-assisted passive tags, model STT-7000, utilize ultrasonic welding to achieve IP67-rated tag enclosures and laser marking for durable serialized part marking. Intelleflex tags can be used for tracking vehicles in a yard, airline containers on the tarmac, manufacturing work-in-process, reusable operational assets and personnel. Its Intelligent RFID Platform consists of multi-protocol tags and readers, offering capabilities beyond those of traditional passive RFID tags at a fraction of the cost of active RFID, Intelleflex claimed.
