Austrian Post's German parcel carrier and logistics subsidiary said it has created 80 new jobs with the facility in Alzenau, in the north of the Lower Franconia region.
It is situated next to an existing transhipment point operated by trans-o-flex's temperature-controlled specialist subsidiary ThermoMed.
Trans-o-flex said the facility would allow shipments to arrive very late and still be delivered throughout Germany on the next day, either through trans-o-flex's own road network or ThermoMed's.
It is located at a 30-minute drive from Frankfurt Airport with direct access to the A45 motorway, which also means easy integration with international airfreight shipping.
