The release caps two years of development and the completion of beta testing. The first public training sessions for the new framework are scheduled for May of 2013. The framework provides a systematic approach to integrating the various focal points of a supply chain, from business planning and strategy to network management, processes and resource control. SCC research director Caspar Hunsche said M4SC represents the launch of "the next 15 years of research into supply-chain management." SCC's membership has been asking the organization to develop the next evolutionary stage of the Supply Chain Operations Reference (SCOR) model, beyond projects, he said. SCC is a global, non-profit group dedicated to improving supply-chain processes on behalf of its members.
