Supply Chain Consulting, a provider of business software and services, has launched a new technology offering called CarbonView. It will help companies to evaluate and implement environmentally responsible strategies within their supply chains. The company's Carbon Management Model is a five-step process for implementing a company-wide strategy; CarbonView provides a technology platform to support each phase. According to Supply Chain Consulting, the model helps companies to become greener by implementing their carbon emission-reduction strategies, then monitoring performance against them. CarbonView is the first offering of "green" technology that allows companies to capture, analyze and optimize carbon-emission data across the extended supply chain, while considering financial impacts, SCC claimed. In the process, organizations can evaluate how different cargo-management strategies will impact both the environment and their bottom lines. SCC works with a number of key carbon-database suppliers around the world, to provide comprehensive data on greenhouse gas emissions.
