The deal allows Chainalytics to expand its geographic coverage and capabilities in the areas of sales and operations planning (S&OP) and demand-supply planning. Janne Salmi, former chairman of the board at ROCE, will serve as managing director of Chainalytics Europe, in addition to leading the global S&OP practice. The combined company will have expertise in food and beverage, consumer packaged goods, consumer non-durables, high-tech, industrials, telecommunications and healthcare, among other global industries. Chainalytics said it plans to launch its supply-chain intelligence products in Europe in the coming weeks. They include the firm's Sales & Operations Variability Consortium, which enables companies to benchmark the effects of demand variability on forecast accuracy, and the Freight Market Intelligence Consortium, which provides market insight and benchmarking to buyers of freight-transportation services.
