The tool is timed to coincide with upcoming changes to Canada's customs procedures. The Canada Border Services Agency (CBSA) is implementing the Advance Commercial Information (ACI) program for electronic manifests. Freight forwarders will be required to electronically transmit ACI information to the CBSA within a specified time ahead of the physical movement of the cargo. All forwarders must comply with the new regulations by June, 2014. CargoWise customers are already transmitting e-manifest data as an extension of their existing application, the company noted. In a related announcement, CargoWise has entered into a global partnership with Combined Logistics Networks (CLN). The deal allows the Hong Kong-based network of independent forwarders to adopt CargoWise's cloud-based logistics software known as ediEnterprise. As a result, CLN members will be able to conduct the real-time exchange of data through a single platform. The move includes CLN joining CargoWise's WiseIndustry Partner program, created to allow network members to engage in integrated data exchange.
