MCA Solutions, a vendor of software to manage after-sales service and parts planning, has been authorized to resell the Oracle Database. In the process, the Oracle product becomes more tightly integrated with MCA's Service Planning Optimization (SPO) software suite. Now, when implementing MCA's SPO service parts management offering on the Oracle Database, the vendor's service organization can provide first-level technical assistance for the combined MCA SPO/Oracle Database product. For more complex issues, it will have access to Oracle's Global Support Team. According to MCA, the distribution agreement will help the vendor's customers to achieve a lower total cost of ownership, when implementing SPO on the Oracle Database. SPO has already been implemented with Oracle applications at several joint customers, including Cisco Systems, the companies said.
