MCA Solutions, a provider of software for service-parts planning and optimization, has launched MCA Desktop Edition. The application is aimed at mid-tier organizations and business units within larger companies. It allows users to build planning models, prepare proposals and run real-time, "what-if" scenarios. Desktop Edition offers the functionality of the MCA Solution Suite, including demand forecasting and inventory optimization, graphical model building, desktop collaboration and bid and proposal development. The tool can be licensed for an individual planner with training and deployment services. It comes bundled with all required components, including database and application server software. New interactive capabilities allow planners to be up and running in a matter of days on a single user desktop, MCA claimed. The vendor also offers the MCA Enterprise Edition for large-scale deployments, and the hosted OnDemand edition.
