Hubwoo operates an open business network, while GEP is a vendor of procurement software and services to Fortune 500 and Global 2000 companies worldwide. The two companies are joining in a new service that utilizes mobile and touch technologies. The deal combines GEP's sourcing and procurement tool, SMART by GEP, a source-to-pay platform, with the Business Network by Hubwoo, an open business-to-business collaboration and catalog-management hub for supplier enablement. Suppliers on the network will be able to collaborate directly with buyers on the SMART by GEP platform, for orders, invoices, requests for quotation, catalogs and related processes. Hubwoo's network is focused equally on buyer and seller services, with no supplier fees, and is open to integrating with all enterprise resource planning, procurement and accounts payable systems.
