The new exchange, dubbed AutoDX, was developed in partnership with the Society of Indian Automobile Manufacturers (SIAM) and the Automotive Components Manufacturers Association (ACMA), the two leading industry groups in the Indian automotive sector. Up to now, said IBM, Indian auto manufacturers and parts suppliers have relied on manual processes to exchange transactional data. The new exchange, built on IBM Sterling B2B Collaboration Network technology, promises to standardize, automate and accelerate the movement of data via the cloud. In the process, IBM claimed, the network can reduce transaction costs by as much as 80 percent. The cloud opens up connections for the Indian auto industry to more than 160,000 global organizations that already use the IBM Sterling B2B Collaboration Network. The exchange is based on applications from IBM's Smarter Commerce initiative.
