The airline is now flying to the Northern Italy city twice a week, using MD-11 and newly delivered Boeing 777 freighters. Milan Malpensa Airport is a stopover for Lufthansa Cargo flights returning from Cairo, Egypt to Frankfurt, Germany. The airline also announced its summer schedule, effective March 30. It will provide connections to 299 destinations in 100 countries, with 50 cities served by freighters. Most of those will be in Asia, where Lufthansa Cargo will offer freighter connections to 23 destinations. Freighters will fly to nine cities in North America, eight in Latin America, four in Africa and six in Europe.
