Cognex Corp., a supplier of machine-vision systems, vision sensors and industrial identification sensors, has built new features into its DataMan 100 family of image-based ID readers. New lens accessories provide magnification flexibility to optimize reading performance in a variety of applications, the vendor said. A new super-high-density (SHD) lens kit allows flat-panel display manufacturers and printed circuit-board assemblers to read tiny codes with cell sizes as small as .05 millimeters. The new C-mount lens adapter further extends the range of lenses that can be used. In addition to the new lens options, DataMan readers support an expanded list of 1D and 2D symbologies, including PharmaCode, Reduced Space Symbology and MicroPDF. All DataMan 100 readers offer easy setup, with integrated illumination, beeper, adjustable optics, built-in aimer and push-button trigger. The compact design of DataMan 100 readers is especially suited for applications where space is limited, Cognex said.
