Serus provides E2open with additional technology for design of manufacturing, contracts and compliance, as well as early-stage visibility in the semiconductor and discrete manufacturing industries. Serus also adds cloud-based capabilities for the management of intellectual property, new-product introductions and engineering change orders. The additions provide the E2open Business Network with extended visibility into outsourced semiconductor manufacturing, the company said. Serus orchestrates data and decision-making from engineering to operations and finance in near-real time, helping companies to deal with changes that impact output, inventory, costs and customer satisfaction. Serus monitors supply-chain progress on a granular level, allowing partners to review detailed root-cause analysis and make recommendations for solving any problems that might arise. Purchase price of the deal at closing was approximately $18.5m, with an additional $7.5m in cash contingent upon achievement of certain financial performance milestones.
