Following the form factor of its predecessor, the new model includes the ability to read 2D barcodes at extreme distances with the new XLR 2D scanner. It also provides a higher level of wireless communications throughout with the 802.11n dual-band Wi-Fi radio. Other features include a full VGA display, faster processor, more memory and higher degrees of ruggedization. The device includes a Corning Gorilla Glass 3 scan window, IP65 sealing rating, concrete drop spec of six feet, and sequential testing of 1,500 random falls from 3.3 feet. The Falcon X3+ is equipped with a full shift battery and choice of VGA or QVGA bright 3.5=inch touchscreen display. A 3.1-megapixel color camera is included on all of the VGA configurations, for capturing images such as product placement or damaged goods.
