Freightgate, a provider of internet applications for the freight and logistics industry, has launched a beta version of The Freightgate Portal 2.0. The new portal combines components of the vendor's PLTX platform with new Web 2.0 technologies, supporting the open portlet industry standard JSR 168, as well as RSS. All existing functionality for logistics companies has been transferred to the new platform and is available on the Freightgate Portal 2.0. The new website encompasses a comprehensive search capability and an entire suite of collaborative features, such as message boards and Wikis. Freightgate's other internet-based products include I-Trek! for internet supply-chain collaboration and visibility, GTM-Trek! for requests for quotation and tender management, Tariff-Trek! for service contract and quote management, FMC-Trek! for fulfilling publishing requirements of the Federal Maritime Commission, Pay-Trek! for automated freight-bill audit and payment, a WISA (What-If Scenario Analysis) tool, and I-Sail!, an interactive online sailing schedule.
