The independent company has developed a draft methodology and is looking to work with a number of organizations across multiple sectors, in an initial pilot phase that will run through to early 2015. The certification will provide both a quantitative and qualitative framework for recognizing companies that have committed to taking action on the environmental impacts of their supply chains. The methodology involves measuring impacts and improving processes and systems. More than 1,100 companies have certified to the Carbon Trust Standard for reductions in carbon, water and waste since it was launched in 2008.
