The new receiving and package-tracking application is intended to boost visibility of supplies that are received by, and delivered to, all locations within an organization. InnerTrack allows hospital staff members to manage and document the entire receiving process, from the moment a truck offloads a shipment at the dock through delivery to final destination. The software provides users with an interface on a smart device that begins capturing data at the loading dock. InnerTrack integrates with major delivery carriers, including UPS and FedEx, so that packages can be scanned into the system and matched to the purchase order. InnerTrack identifies the final destination within the health system, prints a label for each box, and aids in the staging of packages for delivery. Once loaded onto carts for delivery, the packages assigned to each route are scanned, creating a tracking history as the shipment is routed within the organization. Completed purchase orders can be quickly closed with an InnerTrack-generated EDI 856 (advance ship notice) submitted to the Maintenance Management Information System (MMIS) or company enterprise resource planning (ERP) system.
