Brokers and shippers can now define business rules to schedule e-mail alerts to customizable groups of recipients, such as dock personnel or customers, who require status updates. A "big data" analytics module supports on-time performance at pickup and delivery locations. In addition, FourKites has added five partnerships to its ELD ecosystem, which now includes more than 35 providers. Carriers can use the tool to automatically send tracking data to shippers, brokers and third-party logistics providers, without having to spend extra money on data transfers. FourKites’ tracking data provides the location, status and estimated time of arrival for every truck on the road. Also part of the new software is a real-time location-tracking feed from ELD and global positioning system (GPS) manufacturers serving the trucking industry. The system recalculates ETA every 15 minutes, using real-time data, including traffic and weather conditions.
