The cloud-based suite allows companies to plan based on demand priorities, and adapt when faced with increased demand or supply disruptions. According to the vendor, the new version, based on the SAP HANA platform, allows for faster and more accurate decisions supported by "what-if" analyses, along with analysis of constraints in the supply chain. The suite supports the end-to-end planning processes of sales and operations planning, demand sensing and planning, supply and allocation planning, response planning and inventory optimization. It also provides embedded analytics, and alerting and collaboration capabilities. In another company announcement, SAP Ariba has enhanced its application in support of the source-to-pay process. Updates include guided buying, whereby users are led to preferred goods and services, and an open partner ecosystem, which allows for partners to enhance SAP Ariba cloud applications through the use of standards-based application programming interfaces (APIs).
