The deal gives Hyster-Yale exclusive distribution rights for related products in all areas outside of Australia. The acquired businesses will be rebranded as HYG Telematic Solutions. Based in Melbourne, Australia, Speedshield is a provider of telematics technology for material-handling equipment, as well as other fleet vehicle applications. It is the sole authorized provider of telematics products to Hyster-Yale customers, under the Yale Vision and Hyster Tracker telematics product offering. Hyster-Yale said it intends further to develop its capabilities in the market for telematics systems and fleet data analytics for material-handling fleets. The company designs, sells and services lift trucks and aftermarket parts globally, primarily under the Hyster and Yale brand names.
