The tool combines data storage, processing, analytics and advanced visualization. Running on Microsoft's Azure cloud, the portal allows businesses to access big-data analytics without the need for large, upfront investments or specialized personnel, Ortec said. The portal makes use of Microsoft's Azure Machine Learning for predictive analytics and forecasting. It uses Azure’s Logic apps to connect with a wide range of data suppliers and processors, and draws on Microsoft's Data Factory and Stream Analytics to ingest and process large quantities of data in real time. Companies can work with the advanced analytics tools and databases of their choice, from Hadoop to Spotfire, Ortec said, adding that Excel integration can be implemented with a single mouse click.
