Blue Vector Systems has created a Pharmaceutical Edition of its radio frequency identification (RFID) automation platform. The product offers pharmaceutical manufacturers, packagers, distributors and retailers item-level tracking and tracing, shipment accuracy assurance, and integration with drug pedigree and authentication systems, the vendor said. The software addresses processes that are common to pharma deployments, including support for intelligent dock door, conveyor, shelf and desktop RFID automation systems, either from Blue Vector or third parties. It also offers simultaneous support for multiple tag types, including UHF, HF and long-range active RFID tags. The system allows for two-way integration with software applications from SAP, Supplyscape, IBM and others. It automatically distributes downloaded data to each individual point of automation, regardless of where it is geographically located.
