Oracle Corp. has integrated its Transportation Management software with the company's JD Edwards EnterpriseOne applications suite. The result, claimed Oracle, is a single fulfillment-execution system that allows JD Edwards customers to streamline transportation planning, execution and freight payment. Previously, customers were required to build their own integration between EnterpriseOne, geared toward mid-sized businesses, and Oracle Transportation Management. Now, the transportation application has been integrated into JD Edwards software offering sales-order, financial and procurement management. The integration accommodates multiple modes of transport, including full truckload, less-than-truckload, parcel and multi-leg air, ocean and rail shipments. Oracle said it has continued to improve shipment-planning, rating, dock-scheduling and rail-movement capabilities with Transportation Management 5.5. The latest version also offers enhancements to streamline user workflows, as well as configuration and performance-related diagnostic tools. The integration is available now for licensed customers relying on EnterpriseOne versions 8.11 Sp1 and 8.12. It is delivered to customers as part of their standard maintenance arrangements.
