Seko, the global freight forwarder and logistics services provider, has established a new office in Saudi Arabia. The addition was made in part to support big infrastructure projects planned for the country, including King Abdullah Economic City in Rabigh, Prince Abdul Aziz Economic City in Hail and the Knowledge City industrial development in Medina. These and other developments are boosting Saudi Arabia's status as an international transportation hub, Seko said. Seko Saudi Arabia offers a variety of logistics services, including customs brokerage, import and export trade services for sea freight and air freight, warehousing, consolidation, and inland and overland trucking throughout Saudi Arabia, the Middle East and Gulf. The new office is located close to several major air and sea ports in Jeddah, Dammam, Riyadh, Jubail and Yanbu. A staff of 18 operates a transportation division which consists of some 25 trailers for inbound and outbound shipments. The office also provides warehouse-management services. Seko plans to expand the facility by the middle of this year, in addition to opening an office in Riyadh in the second quarter. In a related development, Seko announced the expansion of its office in San Juan, Puerto Rico. The facility is located close to the Juan Munoz Marin International Airport. It serves the entire island with both export and import trade via air and ocean, providing 20,000 square feet of warehouse space.
