There are plenty of stories of women succeeding as executives in the supply chain. But the industry has a long way to go before achieving true parity.
Women have gradually been rising into management roles throughout the supply chain. Still, like so many other industries, the sector suffers from a serious gender imbalance. On this episode, we’ll hear about some of those success stories, as well as discuss the prospects for women in supply chain, from Sarah Barnes-Humphrey, founder and host of the Let’s Talk Supply Chain podcast, as well as chief executive officer of Shipz. She’ll relate her personal experience of growing up in the industry — third-party logistics was the family business — as well as those of women who have appeared as guests on her podcast. Yet for all their success, women still account for just one-quarter of management positions globally, so there’s plenty of room for improvement. Hosted by Bob Bowman, managing editor of SupplyChainBrain.
