Intalio, Inc., a vendor of business process-management (BPM) software, has developed what it says is the first open-source BPM system to be delivered as a service. Subscriptions to Intalio/On Demand start at $1,500 for each dedicated server, and include bandwidth, licenses, maintenance and support. Users can receive a free five-day evaluation. The application runs dedicated servers on top of Amazon Web Services (AWS), ensuring the highest level of security, reliability and availability, Intalio claimed. The use of rPath as the software appliance on top of AWS boosts scalability to ensure capacity regardless of user demand, the vendor added. Intalio/On Demand replicates the Intalio/BPMS On Premise version, and includes connectors for Salesforce.com, as well as large-scale applications such as Oracle E-Business Suite and SAP. Intalio/BPMS supports more than 100,000 different process models deployed on a single server, with more than 100 million process instances running concurrently.
