Sirit Inc. has created the INfinity 110 (IN110), a high-frequency reader module designed for embedded radio frequency identification (RFID) applications. The unit incorporates the new TRF7960 chip from Texas Instruments, providing application developers with a variety of tag choices by supporting numerous protocols. Future upgrades and feature enhancements, including the addition of new tag protocols, can be made via firmware updates. Applications for the IN110 include security and access control, electronic payments, ticketing, e-passports, document tracking, patron management, product authentication and medical uses such as patient management and pharmaceuticals tracking. The IN110 allows for easy integration into RFID devices such as handheld readers, mobile or stationary printers, and point-of-sale terminals, Sirit said.
