Metastorm Inc. has made available the Metastorm Value Reference Model (VRM). The tool was designed to aid companies in the integration of their business processes, and better align corporate strategy across functional boundaries. Metastorm VRM is implemented using Metastorm ProVision software. Built on the VRM foundation developed by the Value Chain Group, Inc., an independent, non-profit organization, it helps to improve business operations required for the design, manufacture, delivery and support of products by way of a single framework. In addition, Metastorm claimed, it speeds up business improvements via a reference set of measurements, processes and practices. Metastorm VRM draws on a set of standard business models to deliver an end-to-end view of supply-chain management processes. In combination with the Metastorm ProVision modeling tool, it allows companies to configure and define the scope of a supply chain, then analyze the process from start to finish. The product includes more than 1,000 process-specific metrics that are aligned with performance attributes for process measurement and benchmarking. It also features more than 400 best practices to allow for "best-in-class" supply-chain performance.
