SciQuest, Inc., a provider of procurement software and services for the academic, healthcare and research fields, has released Supplies Manager. The tool gives companies the ability to manage the procurement and inventory of internal supplies in one system. Users who log in to shop for materials and compare vendors can see which items are in stock, and order them internally. Supplies Manager notifies stockroom personnel to create pick lists and packing slips. Buyers can check the status of their orders online. Also included are dashboards that provide immediate visibility to critical performance data. Supplies Manager seamlessly integrates with self-service stockrooms and kiosks, the vendor said. In a related announcement, SciQuest has teamed up with Provista, a multi-industry purchasing group for more than 12,000 higher education and healthcare customers. The deal combines SciQuest's procurement automation technology with Provista's contract negotiation and management expertise. Universities, colleges and hospitals get access to Provista's pre-negotiated contracts in the online shopping environment offered by SciQuest's on-demand, e-procurement platform.
