ALK Technologies, Inc. has released the 22nd annual upgrade of PC-MILER, the company's routing, mapping and mileage software for truckers. PC-MILER 22 offers new and updated truck restrictions and allowances, truck-specific toll costs by vehicle weight and axle count, custom vehicle dimension routing and real-time fuel optimization. Exact toll costs are calculated based on the departure location, vehicle dimension, route preference, type of cash (cash or discount program) and destination. ALK is including, for a limited time, a single user license with four quarterly updates at no charge. PC-MILER 22 offers the ability to generate routes based on custom vehicle dimensions by height, length, width and weight, to ensure calculation of the optimal rate. The software is equipped with an automatic update feature so that users can download software and data updates online. The new fuel-optimization feature provides optimized fuel-purchase plans based on daily prices. It integrates those plans into PC-MILER routes, driving directions and maps. PC-MILER/Fuel Optimization is activated with the purchase of a FuelAdvice.com account. The new version of the software also includes 1.8 million weight restrictions and allowances, with information provided by state and local municipalities, 2,800 new height restrictions, and more than 9.5 million points of interest throughout the U.S. PC-MILER runs on Microsoft Windows, Unix and Linux platforms, as well as IBM AS/400, iSeries and System I midrange and mainframe computers.
