LLamasoft, Inc., a vendor of supply-chain network design software, has partnered with Argon Consulting, a French supply-chain consulting firm, to offer enhanced network design services. The alliance will focus on optimizing for cost and service, while addressing greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions and other environmental considerations. Argon, which services the automotive, retail, consumer products, pharmaceutical and utility industries will provide its clients with supply-chain analysis tools through the use of LLamasoft's Supply Chain Guru technology. The tool offers a single product for all network design needs, integrating optimization and simulation capabilities. The joint venture has already secured its first client, involving a complete distribution network redesign, with GHG analysis, for a major European consumer goods manufacturer. LLamasoft's Supply Chain Guru software was created to realize financial and operational improvements in transportation, inventory, sourcing and production applications.
