ILOG Inc. has developed new versions of two software applications--version 7 of both the ILOG LogicTools Inventory Analyst, and the ILOG LogicTools Product Flow Optimizer. Both are part of the vendor's suite of supply-chain applications. The new release of Inventory Analyst addresses frequent integration issues that prevent companies from adopting an inventory-optimization tool. Product Flow Optimizer allows managers to evaluate the tradeoffs between logistics and inventory costs, to determine the optimal path for each product moving from a distribution center to customers. Inventory Analyst includes a Data Store Table Editor, which enables the quick setup of custom tables within a data store for customer-specific data. Users can configure their own dashboards and reports to display information automatically populated from the application. Optimization models within the tool provide tradeoff information between service, shelf life and costs. Shelf-life alerts warn users when a product is not likely to reach its destination in time. Product Flow Optimizer lets users evaluate various transport mode options. Again, users can configure their dashboards to display information from the application.
