Lightning Pick Technologies has released Lightning Pick Version 5.4. The vendor is a provider of pick-to-light and other advanced systems for order fulfillment. The latest update introduces the LP Dashboard, a graphical analysis tool providing managers with real-time visibility into the productivity of their order-picking operations. Version 5.4 also includes support for radio frequency-based cluster-picking methodologies, capability for secondary locations for a single pick command, and enhanced serial number data acquisition at the pick face. The new release features the Lightning Pick QC (Quality Check) Workstation, an automated method of checking the quality of orders against the Lightning Pick real-time database. QC workers use corded handheld RF scanners to read barcodes on incoming totes. All items required in the order are displayed on an eye-level LCD touch screen. After emptying the tote's contents into a tray on one side of the station, the system scans each item on the flatbed scanner, which is ergonomically mounted on the workstation tabletop. Onscreen audio and visual feedback alerts the operator to mis-picks, over-picks and incorrect or missing products. Options are available for customer-specific error codes and additional descriptive text to optimize the quality-check process.
