The industrial manufacturing sector consists largely of traditional companies that have only recently awakened to the importance of high-level supply-chain management. Nari Viswanathan, research director of supply chain management with Aberdeen Group, traces the evolution of this group to its current state of affairs. He discusses what it might take for these companies to craft global supply chains that are characterized by multi-layer collaboration. Viswanathan also explains why the industrial sector is less affected by the current recession than high-tech and consumer goods manufacturers. [Run Time (Min): 11:24]
