The Biden Administration’s sanctions on sales of advanced technology are having a major impact on the global electronics supply chain.
It’s been close to a year since the Biden Administration imposed new stringent curbs on the sale of advanced semiconductors and related technology to China. It was just another chapter in the long-simmering trade war between China and the U.S., but the presidential action has affected the ability of high-tech manufacturers to acquire key components for production. On this episode, Luke LeSaffre, chief revenue officer with Fusion Worldwide, a $3 billion independent distributor of electronics components, describes the state of the industry today, as it grapples with export restrictions and a volatile economy. Also under discussion is the role that China plays, both as a supplier and buyer, and whether manufacturers can diversify their supply chains to rely less on that dominant player in the years ahead. Hint: It won’t be easy. Hosted by Bob Bowman, Editor-in-Chief of SupplyChainBrain.
