Honeywell International has introduced two new versions of its 3800g linear barcode scanner. The move enhances the ability of users to read specialized barcodes, especially in the electronics and manufacturing sectors. Two-dimensional barcodes appear on everything from inventory tracking and management systems to ID cards and shipping labels, Honeywell notes. In addition, the use of high-density linear barcodes is common among industries that are required to label small items. To meet those new demands, Honeywell has modified its 3800g scanner to create the 3800gPDF and 3800gHD with added functions. The new models feature ergonomic designs with no moving parts, Adaptus Imaging Technology 5.0 and a five-year warranty. The 3800gPDF can swipe-read 2D PDF417 barcodes in addition to standard linear barcodes, while the 3800gHF is optimized for close-range scanning of small, high-density barcodes.
