Old Dominion Freight Line, Inc. has opened its first warehouse in Southern California. Located in the city of Commerce, the operation will perform shipment consolidation, container deconsolidation, cross-docking, full-service warehousing and services for truckload, less-than-truckload (LTL) and air. The location allows the company to service the Southern California market while participating in supply chains originating in the Far East, according to director of warehousing Chris Reynolds. The Warehouse Division will work with Old Dominion's China partner to perform door-to-door services between points in the Far East, United States, Mexico and Canada. Old Dominion is an LTL "super-regional" carrier. It consists of four operating groups: OD Domestic, Expedited, Global and Technology. The trucker offers coverage in 50 states as well as international services around the world.
