Intermec Inc. is offering two new models of mobile, wearable receipt printers. The PB2 and PB3 are aimed at such functions as direct store delivery, route accounting, retail "queue-busting" (mobile checkout) and field-service applications. The lightweight, two-and three-inch printers complement the Intermec CN3 series, as well as the new CK3 mobile computers. They are available with an optional magnetic stripe reader, giving workers the flexibility to accept payments via their mobile computers or printers. Payments can be processed on the go, and receipts generated immediately. The printers utilize the belt loop system, which comes standard with every model, or an optional shoulder strap. Hands-free options include a weather-resistant, IP54-rated environmental case, which adds protection for outdoor applications such as electronic citations, postal delivery and car rental return processing. The PB2 and PB3 feature long-lasting, field-replaceable batteries, which can be charged independently of the printer. Intermec's product line also includes receipt media, Medallion Support services, and secure wireless interface via Bluetooth or 802.11g with rugged mobile computers.
